Who is eligible to use red diesel?

If you’re not aware of the changes in the law made by the UK government in April 2022, it’s important you check your planned use of red diesel before ordering to ensure you’re using it legally and avoiding any penalties.

Don’t worry, our red diesel experts will ensure that your planned usage meets the new and updated requirements, so that you stay on the right side of the law, especially if you haven’t used it in quite some time and are planning to reuse it again.

Businesses should have switched their commercial heating fuel from red diesel to some other form of heating oil after it was banned in 2022 as a heating fuel by businesses. One such alternative is industrial heating oil (IHO), a cost-effective oil, formulated specifically for commercial heating purposes.

Unlike red diesel, which could be used in vehicles (with restrictions). Industrial heating oil cannot be used in any vehicles, not even in off-road vehicles, or any other mobile or static engines. It is strictly for heating oil applications only.
